in Appearance Scam Emails by Scam Alert Editor

It has been a while since I’ve seen anything MySpace related…well, there is that opening roll on Silicon Valley…but beyond that.

So to receive this recently made me chuckle.

So an email from nobody I know, purporting to be something important.

The text attachment is this:
This email (myspace@XYZ.net) was used as the addressee of the payment from Gina Burton

The transfer status is pending. Review the document attached.

Doc Access Key: pP7r3GTDF68An9

I haven’t had a chance to open the word attachment on a sacrificial computer, but no doubt is has a macro that will place malicious code on the opening system.

Remember, don’t open attachments from folks you don’t know.
